BAT POLAND IS LOOKING FOR GTR REPACK EXECUTIVE

Purpose statement:

Purpose of the role is to be repack subject matter expert for Global Travel Retail and to be responsible for repack, rework and value-added services (VAS) taking place in the European warehouse. GTR business has operational footprint in various end-market and factory locations in Asia and in Europe. Any handling of the product involving opening factory packed shipper case to bring products to the desired specification on pack or outer (bundle) level is considered repack or rework. All modes of transport (road, sea, air) are used for inbound and outbound. Various consumables are used in these processes. Finished goods are in duty suspended regime, whilst consumables are not. The successful applicant will be responsible for day-to-day management of these activities, to review, update and manage relevant processes and documents; develop insights and drive action plans for service and cost improvements with internal and external stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the execution of repack and rework plans with 3PL Warehouse in Europe in line with plans and priorities, in a way that optimizes service and cost (production wheel, capacity, rate cards, minimum and economic order quantity etc.).
  • Manage repack and works with 3PL warehouse, their performance and service delivery.
  • Own and drive end-market repack and rework Daily Direction Setting (DDS) drumbeat with 3PL.
  • Own the repack plan review and is responsible for re-scheduling when required by the order fulfillment priorities.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for Repack for the entire GTR in terms of the process, documents, and consumables. All operational processes related to the repack, rework and VAS are in the purview. Advises and reviews proposals for other locations.
  • Represent BAT externally with 3PL and other suppliers: repack machinery, spare parts, consumables.
  • Creates machine maintenance plan, defines principles, and ensures there are spare parts stock at 3PL site, training plans, and deals with any urgent maintenance (stoppage). Develops strong understanding of the machinery performance and works actively on the optimization of the machinery capacity, use and improvements, including proposals for any upgrades.
  • Manages repack materials and consumables in the purview of the GTR end-market (both valued and non-valued) from the vendor setup, purchase order placement, shipping instructions, inbound, monitoring of the inventory, usage and waste, risks and invoice verification. Ensures that inventory for items is properly tracked. Responsible for vendor management.
  • Provides input for all repack materials and consumables Stock holding policy. Works with other teams to have defined and monitored SHP for those. Raises risks or deviations.
  • Review, update and effectively implement changes in repack, rework and value-added services processes and documents considering all relevant aspects including quality to the specification, track and trace compliance, customs compliance, stock control, product handling and hygiene standards. Notable focus is on the quality of repack as customer/consumer relevant.
  • Responsible to plan and align rate cards for any new activities considering existing ones and complexity of the new activity.
  • Define, review, update and communicate repack handling instructions.
  • Establish and embed a Continuous Improvement culture and Zero-loss mentality within respective area. Review what, how and why it’s done in areas of repack, rework and VAS, capture learnings and raise preventative actions, create proposals for productivity and optimization.

Experience, skills, and profile:

Preferred:

  • Previous operational experience in manufacturing, operations, or warehouse setting, and with standard operational procedures.
  • At least basic knowledge of enterprise and warehouse management systems. Enterprise system knowledge can be SAP, Oracle or similar. WMS experience can be SAP, JDA, Blue Yonder or similar.
  • Languages: Polish – effectively communicate verbally and in writing in the business context.

Essential:

  • Strong analytical skills, rigor, and attention to the detail both in terms of the on-site operation as well as documentation and analysis. Ability to transform insight into actions and proposals.
  • Effective communication with various stakeholders of diverse cultural and geographical background, often to be done remotely.
  • Propensity to drive loss analysis, develop proposals, influence and be assertive.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to provide effective escalation and support point.
  • Demonstratable experience with concepts of productivity, time and motion studies, loss analysis. Experience with Integrated Work System (IWS) or similar framework would be advantage.
  • Languages: English - fluent speaking, solid writing.

Location and travel requirements:

  • Working hours to cover Central Europe time zone (CET) working hours. Role being based and focused on-site; it’s expected presence there most if not all working days Monday to Friday.
  • From time to time might require flexibility for early start when required for meetings during wintertime clock. Brand and NPI are in Asia, which are 6-7 time zones ahead. If early start, such calls can be done remotely (from home).
  • Person is eligible to travel within the European Union for occasional meetings with vendors and to DBS hub in Warsaw.
