BAT POLAND IS LOOKING FOR A MATERIAL PLANNER INTERN

JOB TITLE: Material Planner Intern  

SENIORITY LEVEL: Internship

FUNCTION: Supply Network

SUBFUNCTION: Plan  

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Temporary

START DATE: As soon as possible

LOCATION: Warsaw, Poland – SNO Hub

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

  • Responsible to ensure that the raw material requirements of the factories are met with no interruption to supply continuity.
  • To work closely with internal and external stakeholders raising and expediting material orders to mitigate potential issues and avoid any production disruption.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?

  • Key role to ensure production continuity in the factory and avoid any out of stocks of finished goods in the End Markets.

Reports to: Supplier Manager

Reporting Level: manages self

Geographic Scope: Europe

Travel Required: Not

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Place materials purchase orders/contracts in-line with supplier lead-times to meet multiple factory production plan requirements in SAP and Rapid Response system.
  • Ensure period of material cover is sufficient, whilst maintaining target inventory levels and optimal supplier price.
  • Maintain target stock levels within the factory
  • Help in reducing the Slow moving, old inventory
  • Execute all cost reduction activities initiated by procurement, factory, etc.
  • Arrange delivery of materials with the supplier to the factory and where necessary resolve any logistics issues.
  • Input master data into SAP and Rapid Response system for new materials.
  • To work with the Production Planning team when a material shortage is identified to ensure the issue is resolved quickly with minimum impact to the factory.
  • Working with other teams and departments to implement the phasing in and out of new/old materials as part of a controlled process (achieving agreed deadlines with minimum cost).
  • To liaise with suppliers on an ongoing basis to reserve production capacity (by providing material forecasts) to meet future supply requirements for multiple factories
  • Proactively develop the relationship with the supplier to improve service and performance and to optimize the business processes between the two parties.
  • Support Procurement team in supplier invoicing issues
  • Highlight serious supplier issues and work with the management team to resolve issues quickly and with minimal impact to the business.
  • Support the team in weekly/ monthly reporting
  • Support the team and manager in ad hoc requests

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

Experience Required

  • Some experience across Planning, Logistic, (Manufacturing & Commercial experience) would be an advantage

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Excellent analytical and planning skills.
  • Good English proficiency (100% of the work is in English).
  • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneNote)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills.

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • University degree (Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement related major could be an advantage)

BENEFICIAL

  • Knowledge in SAP desired.
  • Knowledge in Rapid Response desired.
