BAT POLAND IS LOOKING FOR AN EHS & SUSTAINABILITY Executive

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The key purpose of this role is to implement and maintain the best EHS & ESG practices of control the EHS risks in compliance with the BAT standards, policies and the local legal requirements to reduce to minimum the risk of accidents, professional illness and environment damage.
We are trusted business partners by creating the safest conditions for the people and the environment within the company premises and ensuring all EHS legal provisions are implemented when working from remote locations. The incumbent makes sure that the entire organization implements BAT Group EHS & ESG standards and requirements, and the initiatives that have a clear strategy in reaching the zero incidents goal.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Leads and implements the EHS strategy at organizational level and supports the collaboration among departments in achieving implementation
- Identifies and assesses the potential and existing risks in the location that could impact the health and safety of the employees and the environment
- Ensures the company has relevant programs that lead to raising the awareness about health, safety, environment and emergency situations, EHS skills and practices, so that potential EHS risks are reduced.
- Designs specific instructions to complete and/or apply the EHS provisions, while considering the specific nature of the company and its activity, as well as that of the jobs in the organisation, and implements them in the organisation only after they have been approved by the Employer
- Elaborates, makes suggestions, and obtains the necessary approvals for the EHS budget and objectives (short & medium terms), and manages the expenses to fit within the approved budget
- Ensures and offers support and guides managers to understand their own EHS responsibilities.
- Ensures implementation of the EHS management systems, programs and procedures as described in the BAT system manual to ensure that the EHS objectives and goals are achieved as per the applicable law requirements.
- Performs site inspections to identify the areas with issues and unsafe practices – ensures the support to define an action plan and supervises the follow up.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- At least 3 years’ experience in EHS, preferably into a multinational company
- Basic knowledge and experience in ESG area
- Experience in internal and external audit
- Rational decision making and problem-solving ability is essential
- Experience and knowledge of the applicable legal requirements (EHS, emergency situations)
- Ability to understand the EHS issues and to set the priorities related to them
- Ability to drive complex EHS & ESG initiatives at company level
- Ability to work under pressure and keep to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy
- Fluency in English and Polish
